Grand Piano Works Vol. I is the first in a series of one-take, live performances by Oliver Patrice Weder on different grand pianos. Each piano and location will be chosen for their particular history, with a new set of pieces arranged specifically for the session.

Volume I is recorded and filmed in his new home, which is a former shoe factory in the mountains of the Balearic Island Mallorca. For this session he found a 100 year old Foerster Loebau Grand Piano in the mountain village Bunyola, which he bought from a local piano tuner. Musically, Weder stays true to his own style, mixing experimental and modern classical foundations with a hint of jazz and blues, inspired by the greats such as Saint-Saens, Chopin, Tschaikovsky, but also artists such as Hailu Mergia, Howlin' Wolf, The Doors, FKJ, Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm.
