about

Moderna Records presents Algorithmics, a brand new compilation of piano-based works curated specially for Piano Day 2017. This collection of pieces is dually inspired by geometric shapes and rhythmic configurations, each piece a contrasting take on these concepts from the hands of eight musicians assembled from across the globe.

Algorithmics includes contributions from Moderna artists Tambour, Ed Carlsen and Tim Linghaus, who wrote brand new pieces for this release, as well as Daigo Hanada, whose ‘Once Heard’ originates from sessions for his LP 'Ichiru'. Rounding out the compilation are contributions from UK composer/pianists Matt Emery and Danny Mulhern, New Zealand based composer Levi Patel, and Berlin based minimalist composer/producer Sebastian Morawietz.
